Legal Pedigree

California State Bar Defense Attorney Megan Zavieh

I have always done things my own way, and my legal career has been no different.  At an early age I set myself on a self-designed educational path which led me to high school graduation at age 15, college at 18 and law school at 21.  In college I developed an interest in helping lawyers, and I planned to become a psychiatrist treating attorneys.  I came as close to that career choice as completing my MCAT and all premed courses as a young lawyer.

Instead of heading to medical school, I chose to remain in the practice of law, but I transitioned my career from big firm litigation to a focus on supporting attorneys facing difficult professional times.  I found my passion and never looked back.

My career has gone for a ride with my adventurous personal life, leading me through four states and one foreign country.  I am a California native, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I’ve been a practicing attorney in New York, New Jersey, California and Georgia, and my solo practice really took flight while I was living in Sydney, Australia.  Physical location has never been a boundary to my practice.  With each move, we added a child to our family, which now stands steady at two adults, four children, and two guinea pigs.

I believe that my mission to support lawyers can be fulfilled in countless innovative ways, and I am constantly striving to develop new tools to make defending and avoiding State Bar complaints easier and less costly.  My practice grows like each of my children, as I develop new service lines and tools for lawyers both facing disciplinary actions and looking to structure their practice to avoid them.
